04 Silk Screen
Silk-screen printing, generally known as screen printing, is a printing technique which uses an ink-blocking stencil that holds a woven mesh made of silk. The attached stencil has open areas throughout the mesh that transfers ink or paint onto the chosen fabric. A fill blade or squeegee is then moved across the screen stencil to force the ink through the mesh openings, thus, creating the desired image or picture. Multiple colours of paint can be used with this printing method.
05 Heat Transfer
Heat transfer printing, also known as iron-on transfer, uses heat to print images or pictures onto a cloth. A transfer paper with a chosen flipped image printed on it will be place on the selected material. A heat press or an iron is then pressed or ran over the top of the transfer paper to imprint the picture. Commercial heat transfer printing done together with a heat press will produce a much better result in durability and quality in terms of a “hand”, which is how the print feels on the fabric. There are different types of iron-on methods, from iron-on labels to iron-on patches. Heat transfer printing is frequently used for printing onto t-shirts.
